Echidna Encourager

Echidna-Encourager.jpg

Short-beaked echidnas are spiky little creatures. They are monotremes, which means they are mammals that lay eggs! They eat ants and termites.

Tasmanian echidnas are bigger and furrier than the echidnas on mainland Australia.

While they are common in Tasmania, echidnas are threatened by cars and dogs.

The donation from this Wildlife Wizards badge goes to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, who help rescue and look after echidnas who have been injured.
