ABOUT WILDLIFE WIZARDS

We are a team of grade five primary school students from Hobart Tasmania, Australia. We had an idea to raise money to protect Australian wildlife by selling badges! When you buy a badge, two dollars goes to a charity that protects the animal on it, and the extra one dollar goes to the cost of making the badges and keeping the cause going. We want to help as many animals as possible, but we decided to start with these ten animals: Red Handfish, Red Eyed Tree Frog, Wombat, Tasmanian Devil, Short Beaked Echidna, Wedge Tailed Eagle, Orange Bellied Parrot, Koala, Australian Sea Lion, Hard Coral. We have since added 3 new designs including the Sea Turtle, Mountain Pygmy Possum and Blue Whale. You can find out more about the threats to these animals, and the charities we are supporting, on the Badges pages.

There are 5 types of pygmy possum; Eastern, little, mountain, western and long-tailed.
The Eastern Pygmy Possum, as featured on badge, weighs 15 to 43 grams where as the little, or Tasmanian, pygmy possum weighs only 7-10 grams.
Not all pygmy possums are considered endangered. The most threatened are the Western Pygmy Possum and the Mountain Pygmy Possum, which was once thought to be extinct.

Because we are just starting out, initially we'll just be selling our badges at school. We will also be selling at some events - so keep an eye on our Facebook Page for details!

We are looking for support from local businesses, so if you are a Hobart business owner who would like to stock our badges, please get in touch.
